Grosvenor Picks Hanover Green Retail for Sole Agency Role on South Mayfair Estate
Grosvenor has appointed Hanover Green Retail as the sole agent for all leasing across the south of its Mayfair portfolio, which takes in retail addresses including the historic Mount Street, Carlos Place and South Audley Street, W1.
Mount Street is a global luxury retail neighbourhood and is home to international brands spanning retail, beauty and hospitality such as Toteme’s first European flagship store, The Mount Street Restaurant and Dr Barbara Sturm Skincare.
The Duke of Westminster’s property company said Hanover Green’s appointment follows a strong first quarter performance across the south of Mayfair, with footfall rising by 11% in the first three months of 2024, compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile Mount Street has seen a 4% rise in retail sales over the same period.
Grosvenor has developed a number of flexible offers in recent times for occupiers including green leases, a digitised Simplified Lease that takes 72 hours to agree and a tenant investment fund. Hanover Green already manages leasing across elements of Grosvenor’s Belgravia portfolio including Elizabeth Street, Motcomb Street and Eccleston Yards.
Joanna Lea, Mayfair retail director, Grosvenor, said in a statement: “Hanover Green have been invaluable partners in supporting our leasing across Belgravia, and we’re pleased to be expanding their remit across the south of Mayfair, including the historic Mount Street and Carlos Place. Hanover Green will play a key part in our efforts to consciously evolve our retail offering and improve the neighbourhoods we manage.”
Matthew Hyland, head of agency, Hanover Green Retail, added: “Mount Street and the surrounding area is one of the most desirable neighbourhoods for luxury retail in Central London. We are absolutely delighted our mandate with our key client Grosvenor, has expanded to include this really exciting location.”
